Highly toxic mixture of amorphous alkaloids from Aconitum napellus L., Ranunculaceae. Contains aconitine, mesaconitine, hypaconitine, neopelline, l-ephedrine, sparteine, neoline and napelline. Properties

Yellowish-white, amorphous powder. Poisonous. Insol in water. Sol in alcohol, chloroform, ether, dil acids. MLD in rats (mg/kg): 0.175 s.c., 0.1 i.p. (Munch).
