Prepn from 2-chloro-4-nitrobenzoylchloride and ammonium carbonate: Grohmann, Ber. 24, 3813 (1891); Cosulich et al., J. Am. Chem. Soc. 75, 4675 (1953). Used vs infections caused by protozoa and bacteria: BE 608763 (1962 to Salsbury's Labs).
