Orthorhombic, odorless crystals or granules. Poisonous, combustible. d18.5 1.50. One gram dissolves in 20 ml water, 2.6 ml boil water; slightly sol in alcohol. The aq soln is practically neutral. pH of 0.1 M soln 6.4.

Use

Manuf explosives; electrolytic detinning of iron; in dyeing, metal polishes; for detection and determn of Ca, Pb, and rare earth metals.
