Prepd by dissolving selenious acid in a slight excess of concd aqueous ammonia and evaporating: Berzelius, Acad. Handl. Stockholm 39, 13 (1818); Nilson, Bull. Soc. Chim. [2] 21, 253 (1874); ibid. [2] 23, 262 (1875).

Properties

White or slightly reddish crystals. Sol in water. Dec by heat. Deliquescent.

Use

In manuf red glass; reagent for alkaloids.
