Description and references

Prepd by the action of ammonia on ethyl antimony thioglycollate in absolute alc. The ethyl antimony glycollate is prepd from ethyl thioglycollate and antimony trioxide: Rowntree, Abel, J. Pharmacol. 2, 109 (1910). cf. Christiansen, Organic Derivatives of Antimony, A.C.S. Monograph Series No. 24, (New York, 1925).

Properties

Crystals, mp 140°. One gram dissolves in about 200 ml water. Slightly sol in alc. Insol in ether. Incompatible with alkalies.
