Crystals from 25% ethanol, mp 131-133°. Soly in water at 25°: 1 g/100 ml; in hot water: 2 g/100 ml. Poorly sol in acetone, easily in alc. uv spectrum: Simonyi et al., Acta Pharm. Hung. 36, 257 (1966). At pH 3.4-6.6, uv max (ethanol): 207 nm. LD50 in mice, rats (mg/kg): 445.6, 414 orally; 49.9, 41.3 i.v.; 132, 86.3 i.p.; 203, 257 s.c. (Komlos, Petcz).
