Properties

White to yellowish, deliquesc crystals; HCl odor. d 4.75. mp ≈230°. Sublimes at about 430°. bp 447°. Dec by water or aq alc into BiOCl; sol in HCl, HNO3, abs alcohol, acetone, ethyl acetate. Keep tightly closed.

Use

In the manuf of other bismuth salts; as catalyst for organic reactions.
