Description and references
The bismuth content of the complex salts of
bismuth and alkali tartrate may be made to range within wide limits
(35-75% Bi). The medicinal grade contains 60-64% bismuth. Prepn:

Properties
Odorless powder; sweetish taste; darkens on exposure
to light. Sol in 2 parts water. Practically insol in alc or other
organic solvents. The aq soln is slightly alkaline. Dec by mineral
acids.Therapeutic Category
Formerly as antisyphilitic.
