Description and references

Prepd by refluxing adrenochrome semicarbazone and Na salicylate in 30% methanol: Iwao et al., JP 57 546 (1957 to Tanabe), C.A. 52, 4693 (1958).

Properties

Orange-red powder, mp 196-197.5° (dec). Soly in water (25°): 0.61 mg/ml. Practically insol in ether, chloroform. pH of 10% aq soln 6.7 to 7.3. See also Adrenochrome.
