Hexahydrate. LD50 in rats: 290 mg/kg i.p.; 4.2 g/kg orally (Bruce).

Use

Separation of Ce from other rare earths; catalyst in hydrolysis of phosphoric acid esters; mixture with Th(NO3)4 (1:99) formerly used in manuf incandescent mantles.
