Properties

Crystalline powder, mp 159-160°. Freely sol in water, alc, methylene chloride, chloroform. Sparingly sol in acetone, methyl ethyl ketone, benzene, ether. Aq solns show blue fluorescence. LD50 in mice (g/kg): 6.3 orally; 0.528 i.p.; 0.0355 i.v. (Nitz, Potzch).
