Properties

White to slightly reddish, odorless cystals, mp 165-166°; volatile with steam. Slightly sol in cold, more sol in hot water; sol in chloroform, alcohol, ether, alkali hydroxides.

Caution

Toxicity is similar to salicylic acid.

In manuf of dyes.
