Reddish-violet crystals. mp 53°, also stated as 41°. bp 262°. Sol in water, alcohol, chloroform, ether. Keep tightly closed and protected from light.

Dihydrochloride.

Properties

White to grayish-white, hygroscopic crystalline powder. Freely sol in water; sol in alcohol.

Use

Dihydrochloride in microscopy and in tests for acetone, uric acid, thallic salts, oxydases, lignin, ozone, H2O2, H2S, Br.
