Colorless liquid. d420 0.870. bp 89°. Flash pt, open cup: 40°F (4°C); closed cup: 36°F (2°C). Flammable. Sol in 23 parts water at 27°; miscible with alc, ether. LD50 orally in rats: 6.75 g/kg (Smyth).

Caution

Use

Solvent for cellulose derivatives, plastics, oils and fats; in perfumery.
