Properties
A reddish-brown powder. Sol in water to a green
soln which turns yellowish-brown with HCl and then gradually fades.
Addition of NaOH almost completely decolorizes the soln yielding
a dull violet ppt. LD50 orally in rats: >2 g/kg (Lu, Lavalle).Use
As dye, biological stain.
