Properties

Small crystals. d425 2.43. mp 236°. Decompn starts at ≈400° and becomes rapid at 430° yielding lithium chloride and oxygen. Heat of formation: 99.94 kcal/mol at 25°. Soly in water (w/w) at 0°: 29.9%; at 25°: 37.5%; at 100°: 71.5%. Appreciably sol in alcohol, acetone, ether, ethyl acetate.
