Prepn by reduction of 6-nitro-1-naphthalenesulfonic acid: Kappeler, Ber. 45, 633 (1912); by sulfonation of β-naphthylamine and separation from mixt of sulfonic acids obtained: Green, Vakil, J. Chem. Soc. 113, 35 (1918).
