Straw-yellow, viscous liquid; bp9 204°; bp760 ≈320° (dec); nD25 1.6648; d425 1.114. The soly in water is about 0.2 g in 100 ml at 25°; more sol in hot water. pH of satd aq soln: 10.5. Readily sol in common organic solvents except petr ether.

Use

Dihydrochloride in colorimetric determn of sulfanilamide in body fluids; also in determn of potassium, nitrites, and sulfates.
