American natural gas consists of about 85%
methane, 9% ethane, 3% propane, 2% nitrogen, 1% butane. Northern
Texas gas contains more nitrogen, also sufficient helium to warrant
commercial extraction.
Caution
Narcotic in high concns. Incomplete
combustion can result in production of carbon monoxide.
