Properties
Bright yellow powder, mp 146°. Calc bp 332°. One gram dissolves in 1250 ml water,
45 ml boiling water, 25 ml alcohol, 30 ml ether; sol in benzene, methanol.
Forms water soluble salts with mineral acids.Caution
Potential symptoms of overexposure
are irritation of nose and throat; cyanosis, ataxia; tachycardia,
tachypnea; dyspnea; irritability; vomiting, diarrhea; convulsions;
