Volatile oil from dried ripe fruit of Anethum graveolens L., Umbelliferae. Constit. About 50% carvone d-limonene, phellandrene and other terpenes.

Properties

Colorless or pale yellow liquid; characteristic odor. d1515 0.900-0.915. αD20 +70 to +80°. nD20 1.481-1.492. Insol in water; sol in 1 vol 90% alcohol. Keep well closed, cool and protected from light.
