Flash pt, closed cup: 67°F (19°C); open cup: 70°F (21°C). Sol in 8 parts water; miscible with alcohol, ether, benzene, chloroform, glycerol, oils. Keep tightly closed and protected from light. LD50 orally in rats: 1.0 g/kg (Schaffarzick, Brown).

Caution

Moderately irritating to mucous membranes. Narcotic in high concns. See also 1-Pentanol.
