Flammable liquid. Obnoxious, sweetish odor. Turns brown if not very pure. d415 0.9571. bp760 145°. nD17 1.5064. Kb at 25° = 1.1 × 10-8. Sol in water, alcohol, ether. LD50 orally in rats: 1.29 g/kg (Smyth).

Use

Manuf isonicotinic acid and derivatives. In waterproofing agents for fabrics. As solvent for resins.
