Properties

White, odorless powder. Becomes pink on exposure to light. Very sol in water, alcohol. One gram dissolves in 0.85 ml H2O. A satd aq soln contains 55.82% w/w at 28.5°. See Sidgwick, Ewbank, J. Chem. Soc. 121, 1847, 1850 (1922). The aq soln is neutral or slightly acid to litmus. Keep well closed and protected from light.
