Properties
Liquid. d425 1.0306. mp -78°. bp760 57°. Flash pt <60°F. Practically insol in water,
glycerol. Miscible with benzene, carbon tetrachloride, ethanol, ethylene
glycol, ether, ethyl acetate. Reacts with hydroxy compds to form
ethers; with sulfides, ammonia, amines or metal hypoiodites to give
the corresp propargyl compds; with aldehydes and ketones to give β-acetylenic
alcohols. Undergoes isomerization.Use
