Properties
Bright greenish yellow. Insol in water. Slightly
sol in ethanol (yellow), linseed oil, mineral oil, oleic acid, paraffin
wax, stearic acid, turpentine. Sol in acetone, chloroform, benzene,
toluene. Yellow brown in conc H2SO4, yellow
flocculent ppt in dilution.Use
In spirit lacquers, polystyrenes, polycarbonates,
polyamides, and acrylic resins. In colored smokes. Occasionally
in hydrocarbon solvents. In externally applied drugs and cosmetics.
