Properties

Black to light black solid, mp 526 ±3°. Deep blue-green soln in THF. Absorption max (THF): 565, 617 nm. Sol in ether, THF. Redox potential: E0 -1.55 v. Unstable in the presence of oxygen or moisture; store under an inert atmosphere.

Use

In organic synthesis and electron transfer reactions; in discharge lamps.
