Colorless, fuming liq; disagreeable odor; becomes
yellow on exposure to air. d 2.8. Solidif -12°; mp 5°; bp 153°.
Dec by water into silicic acid and HBr with great evolution of heat.
Reacts violently with metallic potassium.
