water, 0.6 ml boiling water, 19 ml alcohol. pH of 0.1 molar aq soln
at 25°: 8.9.Use
Anhydrous form as auxiliary in acetylations. Trihydrate
in photography; as reagent in anal. chemistry to eliminate effect
of strong acids (buffer); for foot warmers and milk-bottle warmers.
Technical grades are used as a mordant in dyeing. As acidulant in
food. Pharmaceutic aid (in dialysis solutions).
