Properties

White, odorless, cryst powder. Poisonous. Soluble in about 6 parts water, about 100 parts alcohol. The aq soln is moderately acid to litmus.

Formerly as antisyphilitic.

Has been used as an anthelmintic in swine dysentery and other enteric conditions of pigs and poultry.
