Three isomers exist: The β-glycerophosphoric acid disodium salt ((HOCH2)2CHOPO3Na2) and d(+)- and l()-α-glycerophosphoric acid disodium salt (HOCH2CH(OH)CH2OPO3Na2). Prepn: H. King, F. L. Properties

White, odorless, scale-like crystals; dec >130°. Sol in ≈1.5 parts water; more sol in hot water. (pH of aq soln: ≈9.5). Insol in alcohol.
