Long needles. Agreeable odor of new mown grass. mp 30.5-31.5°. bp16 78-79. bp12 ≈80°. nD25 1.4971. Irritant. Flammable. Flash pt, closed cup: 161.6°F (72°C). Volatile with steam. Sol in alcohol, ether, oils. Insol in water. Light sensitive. Not stable to air; must be sealed in evacuated ampuls for storage.
