Dark reddish-brown, thin liquid; strong empyreumatic
odor and taste. d2525 0.960-0.990. Insol in water; miscible with

Antiseptic, antipruritic. For chronic
skin conditions and in hoof dressings. Has been used internally as
an expectorant.
