Prepd from the elements: Suttle, Smith, Inorg. Synth. 3, 140 (1950).
Properties
White, very hygroscopic, cryst solid. d 3.01. mp 225°. Melts to a yellow liquid,
becoming dark red at higher temp. bp 380° without decompn. Dec by water into
TeO2 and HCl. Sol in abs alcohol and toluene. Keep tightly closed.
