Description and references
Prepd by the reduction of titanium oxide with
calcium hydride in the presence of hydrogen above 600°: Alexander, US 2427338 (1947).
Properties
Gray-black metallic powder. Flammable. Stable in air. Dissociation appreciable at
450°.Use
Additive in powder metallurgy; getter for oxygen
and nitrogen in electronic tubes; wetting agent for ceramic to metal
seals; source of pure hydrogen.
