Crystals from dil alcohol, mp 167-176° (Aldrich), from ether, mp 169° (Viehe). Camphor-like odor and taste. Volatilizes in air. Slightly sol in water; sol in alcohol, ether.

Use

As modifier in polymerization of vinyl chloride, Seymour, US 2716112 (1955 to U.S. Rubber).
