Description and references
Occurs in nature as the dihydrate, chalcomenite. Prepd by the action of selenious acid or an alkaline
selenite on a cupric salt: Rocchiccioli, Compt. Rend. 247, 1108 (1958).
Derivative
Dihydrate.
Properties
Blue, orthorhombic or monoclinic crystals. Becomes
anhydr by 265°. Dec to CuSeO3.CuO above 460° and to CuO
above 660°. d 3.31.
Practically insol in water, H2SeO3. Sol in
acids, NH4OH.Status
