Properties

Tetrahedra from chloroform, d 1.25. mp 285-286°. bp 330-331°. Practically insol in water. Hydrolyzed by hot water and by dil acids. Sol in hot glacial acetic acid; in the usual organic solvents except alcohol, ether.
