Description and references

Prepd by treating sodium thiopropanolsulfonate with gold chloride in the presence of SO2 and converting the sodium salt to the calcium salt by means of calcium chloride: Lipovich, Mones, J. Appl. Chem. USSR 18, 20 (1945); cf. GB 265777; Lumière, Perrin, Compt. Rend. 184, 289 (1927).

Properties

Pale yellow powder. Has no definite mp. Soly in water about 2%. Practically insol in organic solvents. Marketed as Oleochrysine which is a suspension plus some Ca gluconate in peach kernel oil.
