Fe₄Na₈O₃₅P₁₀; mol wt 1277.01.

Fe 17.49%, Na 14.40%, O 43.85%, P 24.25%.

Hydrate; Na₈Fe₄(P₂O₇).xH₂O. The commercial product contains 15.5-16.5% Fe and 50.5-52.5% P₂O₅.

White powder. Bulk density 1.4-1.6. Sol in hydrochloric acid. Insol in water.

Food enrichment. Less prone to induce rancidity than orthophosphates.
