Yellow to orange needles from water, dec 283-284°. [α]D23 49° (c = 0.26 in 0.05N NaOH). Sparingly sol in water, even less sol in alcohol. Freely sol with decompn in alkaline aq solns.

Use

Growth-promoting agent in feedstuffs.
