Analytical reagent grade of commerce.

A colourless, viscous liquid; , 1.113 to 1.115; , 1.430 to 1.433; boiling point, about 196°.

Acidity To 10 mL add 20 mL of water and 1 mL of phenolphthalein solution. Not more than 0.15 mL of 0.02 m sodium hydroxide is required to change the colour of the indicator to pink.

Water Not more than 0.2%.
