When used in nuclear magnetic spectrometry, complies with the following test.

Nuclear magnetic resonance In the NMR spectrum of a 10% v/v solution of the reagent being examined in deuterochloroform, the intensity of any foreign signal, excluding those due to spinning side bands and to chloroform, is not greater than the intensity of the ¹³C-satellite signals located at a distance of 59.1 Hz on each side of the principal signal of tetramethylsilane.
