Citrobacter infection
Description
Citrobacter species may cause infections in neonates and immunocompromised hosts. Among them, C. koseri is an important cause of neonatal meningitis and brain abscess formation. Neonates may acquire C. koseri horizontally in hospital settings or vertically from the mother at delivery.
