Bordetella holmesii infection
Description
Bordetella holmesii is a fastidious asaccharolytic oxidase-negative gram-negative bacterium closely related to B. pertussis. It has been reported as a rare cause of bacteremia, pertussis-like respiratory tract infection, and endocarditis predominantly in patients with anatomical or functional asplenia.
