Description
Achromobacter xylosoxidans, also known as Alcaligenes xylosoxidans, is an environmental opportunistic pathogen that causes nosocomial infections targeting immunocompromised patients suffering from cancer, advanced HIV, diabetes mellitus or chronic renal failure. This bacterium can rarely cause keratitis in patients who had worn contact lenses.
