Name
Granulibacter infection
Description
Granulibacter is a gram-negative acetic acid bacterium that is recently reported to be a human opportunistic pathogen. Granulibacter has been isolated from patients with chronic granulomatous disease, in which phagocytes are not able to produce bactericidal superoxide anions. Bacteremia has also been observed in a non-immunocompromised patient with a history of intravenous drug abuse.
