Liquid; unpleasant, pungent odor. Flammable, poisonous. Keep tightly closed. d420 0.938. bp 44-45°. mp 134.5°. nD20 1.4154. Flash pt, closed cup: 25°F (31°C). Slightly sol in water; misc with alcohol, chloroform, ether, petrol ether. LD50 orally in rats: 0.7 g/kg (Smyth, Carpenter).

Caution

Use

In the synthesis of allyl compds.
