Properties

Yellowish, viscid mass. Practically insol in water. Sol in alcohol, benzene, ether, oil turpentine.

Use

In oil or turpentine soln as lacquer for metals, as size, waterproofing agent, drier, for paints, high-pressure and high-temp greases for thickening lubricating oils.
