Occurs in nature as the minerals angelite; coeruleolactite; evansite; lucinite; metavariscite; sterretite; variscite; vashegyite; wavellite; zepharovicht. Properties

White, infusible powder. mp >1460°; d23 2.56. Practically insol in water or acetic acid. Very slightly sol in concentrated hydrochloric acid and nitric acid. Isomorphous with quartz.

Properties

White, viscous suspension from which small amounts of water separate on standing.

Use

As cement in admixture with calcium sulfate and sodium silicate; as flux for ceramics; dental cements; for special glasses.
